Core Stability Training
Core Stability Training: Chronic back pain, pelvic
pain, groin pain and ongoing sporting injuries can occur if you have
weakness in your core stabilising muscles. These muscles include the
deep abdominal muscles (not your six pack) and deep back muscles. By
working together, these muscles provide the body with its own natural
back brace which prevents back injury, and provides a stable base for
your limbs to function.
Using real-time ultrasound, we can determine if you have a problem
correctly recruiting these muscles for action, and therefore retrain
these muscles to work properly. Extension of these exercises involves
the use of a physio ball or swiss ball to further your exercises at
home.
